Frequently asked questions

Which is the most beautiful cave in Spain?

It depends on what you are looking for: the Caves of Drach for their underground lake, El Soplao for its eccentrics, the Nerja cave for the size of its halls or Altamira for its art.

Can you visit the original Altamira cave?

The original is closed to protect it, apart from very limited visits; what you visit is the museum's replica, next to Santillana del Mar.

Do you need to book?

For the most popular ones it is best to book, especially in summer and on long weekends, because visits are guided and group sizes are limited.
